General Tso’s Pineapple Chicken Boat

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 chicken breasts, cut into 1″ pieces

  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder 

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 2–3 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tbsp Ty Ling’s duck sauce 

  • 3 tbsp Ty Ling’s General Tso’s sauce 

  • ¼ tsp Ty Ling’s Chinese five spice 

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon Ty Ling’s Pure Sesame Oil

  • 1 fresh pineapple

  • 3 cups steamed broccoli

  • 4 cups cooked white rice

  • Sesame seeds to garnish

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Cut Pineapple: Cut pineapple in half and then cut 1 inch pieces of pineapple out and set aside. Reserve pineapple to use as a serving bowl. 

  2. Toss Chicken: In a bowl, season chicken with garlic powder and salt. 

  3. Cook Chicken: Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet. Sear chicken in batches until browned and cooked through (about 3–4 min per side). 

  4. Make It Saucy: Return chicken to pan. Add duck sauce, General Tso’s sauce, soy sauce and sesame oil. Sprinkle in a pinch of Chinese five spice and stir. 

  5. Simmer Together: Let everything bubble and thicken for 1–2 minutes. Taste and adjust sauces as needed.

  6. Serve: In a pineapple bowl with ½ cup rice, ½ cup steamed broccoli, cooked chicken and pineapple pieces. Garnish with sesame seeds.
