Kimchi Pancakes

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 tbsp Ty Ling Oyster Sauce
  • 1 tsp Ty Ling Sesame Oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup kimchi, chopped small
  • 1/4 cup kimchi juice
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup potato starch
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 4 green onions, cut into 2 inch pieces
Dipping:

DIRECTIONS:

  1. In a medium bowl, add flour, sugar, salt, Ty Ling Sesame Oil, Ty Ling Oyster Sauce, kimchi brine, water, and egg and mix with a fork or a whisk until smooth. Add kimchi, onion, and green onion to the batter, and stir to combine.
  2. Heat up a flat pan on the grill and add a drizzle of Sesame Oil When the grill pan gets hot but not smoking, spread the kimchi batter evenly with a ladle into pancake-sized circles.
  3. Cook until golden brown (about 2 min), then flip and cook on the other side until golden brown, add a little more oil if needed.
  4. Once perfectly cooked and crispy, remove from the heat and serve with Ty Ling Sweet and Sour Sauce.
