Sushi Waffle

INGREDIENTS:

(for 2 sushi waffles)
  • 1 cup sushi rice cooked according to package instructions
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
  • 1/2 tablespoon Ty Ling Sesame Oil
  • Cooking spray
  • Sashimi-grade salmon, cut into small cubes
  • Sashimi-grade tuna, cut into small cubes
Garnishes:
  • Avocado, cut into small cubes
  • Cucumber, cut into small cubes
  • Wasabi
  • Ty Ling General Tso’s Sauce
  • Kewpie (Japanese) mayonnaise
  • Sesame seeds
  • Green onion, finely sliced

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Combine cooked sushi rice with the rice wine vinegar and Ty Ling Sesame Oil and mix to coat evenly.  
  2. Heat the waffle maker on its highest setting and grease with cooking spray. Pack half of the rice into the waffle maker and cook for about 10 minutes or until crispy and golden.  
  3. Prepare the toppings then alternate between tuna, salmon, cucumber and avocado cubes, filling the waffle holes.
  4. Top with your choices of wasabi, Ty Ling General Tso’s Sauce, mayonnaise, or all of the above, then garnish with sesame seeds and green onion slices and enjoy.
